Combining Blogs and Pen Names, Oh My!: I hope you come along… #blogging #ChangeisGood #Simplify

Hello everyone. As many of you know, I have been running this blog for four years now and while when I started my writing journey, I felt it was necessary to keep both my pen names separate, today, in the interest of time and my own sanity, I have decided to combine Rebecca Hart and R. Brennan’s blogs into one. It just seemed I was spending all my time trying to keep two separate blogs active, when the simple fact is, I dont have the time to do that, or to pretend to be two completely different people.

I had created the second pen name to try to keep fans who enjoyed my fantasy and pirate stories separate from my erotic romance stories, but I have decided you are all capable of determining what sort of stories I have written you are interested in reading, so why not put both sites together?

So, to this end I have done it, and moved the content of this blog over to the Bex Book Nook blog, simply because the name Bex Book Nook applied better to both sides of my personality, where this blog, The Machenwood Chronicles and Other Tales, is pretty specific to my mainstream work.

All this being said, I am here to Beg you all who follow me here to come over to the new blog and sign up for that one instead.  http://BexBookNook.wordpress.com

I would love to have you all make the transfer, but I do realize I will lose some of you in the transition. If I do, I just want to say I appreciate you following along with me all of these years though I sincerely hope you come on over to the new digs. I promise to pull up a bean bag chair for you when you arrive.

I Gots Me a Real Library of Congress Copyright #Squee #writing

When my book was accepted for publication by Inkspell Publishing, they suggested I have my work officially copyrighted with the government. I hadn’t realized this was even necessary until this publishing foray, but apparently it protects me with a bit more oopmh than a standard copyright notice in the book when it comes out.

Anyway, I must squee, share and wiggle, because the official copyright arrived in yesterday’s mail. Isn’t it just so purty?

I think this just might make it official… My novel is going to be published!!

Happy Friday to Me!!

Some Love for the Book Review Blog

Because I am in a self promoting sort of mood, I wanted to take a second to shout out my book review blog, Bex Book Nook. I post reviews of all sorts of fiction (from YA to erotica), cover reveals, blog hop stops, giveaways, etc. I also post a bit of my writing as well (erotica stuff over there)

If you don’t already follow it, you should. I will say that my alter ego writes erotica, and while I always make sure all images I post are at worst PG-13, some of the content may be unsuitable for those under the age of 18.

If you are over 18, stop by!

Recent Acceptance News

I haven’t had an opportunity to rave about my recent good news due to some major busy-ness in my family life. Rather than bore you with the details, I will get right to the heart of the matter.

I have received two acceptances this week for flash pieces I submitted. Cue fanfare and confetti!

The first, Parades , is a flash story about a little girl, Emma, who must come to grips with the true purpose of the parade her mother tells her they are going to attend. Parades will be featured in Daily Flash 2012: 366 Days of Flash Fiction (Leap Year Edition) being published by Pill Hill Press. The anthology should be release in November 2011.

The second story, Jason’s Obsession, is a a flash horror story about a young boy named Jason, who has an unhealthy obsession with fire. The piece will be featured in Daily Frights 2012: 366 Days of Frightening Flash Fiction (Leap Year Edition) also being published by Pill Hill Press and due for release this November.

Two stories, two anthologies and two publishing credits. Hooray for October!!

The beauty here is there are 366 stories in each book and quite a few of my fellow writers and friends from the critique group I belong to will also have their stories feature. Congrats to one and all. I can’t wait to get my hands on copies of these upcoming anthologies.

I will be sure to post up the cover art when it becomes available.
